So what do you do when you are invited to the dedication of public restrooms as they are renamed in honor of your grandparents?
If you are grandson Steve Scearcy, you do what grandpa Clyde Russell and grandma Janie Belle taught you to do…You take what you have and make it grand!
So, on October 7th at 10 AM at Camp Mi Casa RV Park (site of the old family farm) Steve Scearcy performed the toilet paper ribbon cutting…Charmin was the official toilet paper for the event. Then he christened the commodes with Ty-D-Bol cleaner, assuring the namesake facilities would always be fresh, clean, and inviting. Then the Clyde Russell and Janie Belle rooms were declared open for business.
Funnyman Steve Scearcy, the author of two books, shared stories about his grandparents and their Route 66 farm. For this special event to honor the family name, Steve wrote a new comedy song just for the occasion. Surprise! Musicians playing ukuleles, guitars, and even a mandolin unexpectedly joined the musical video shoot. Ty-D-Bol generously provided Ty-D-Bol for everyone. The crowd went wild!
Life doesn’t get much better!
Thanks, Ty-D-Bol. Thanks, Charmin!
