Are you exhausted by wearing too many hats?
Creatives--artists, writers, and others with talent--share many of the very same challenges and needs faced by any traditional business owner who aspires to sell a product or service. The common ground they typically share is a desperate need for educational resources, expert guidance, and development support to get their enterprises visualized, jump-started, and thriving.
What many small business owners do not know is that national nonprofit SCORE has chapters across the nation that can provide extraordinary help for free.
Now, thanks to a national partnership with SCORE, Robin Blakely’s Creative Center of America (CCA) is working to meet a mission shared by FedEx, AARP, Canon and other major companies to help entrepreneurial-minded individuals tap into SCORE's rich network of mentors and experts.
"At Creative Center of America, we are uniquely focused on helping the creative sector find the resources that are available to them." Robin Blakely, CEO of Creative Center of America and a Forbes Coaches Council coach, explains, "One of the biggest issues facing writers, artists, and others in the creative community is that they often do not self-identify as business owners early enough. That is, they do not think of themselves as business owners. They do not characterize themselves as talent-driven brands. We want them to avoid unnecessary struggles and hardships. Once they begin to seriously explore the business side of creativity, we see things begin to change in the trajectory toward success...when they reach the defining moment where they can self-identify as business owners, it is a game-changer. That critical shift opens doors that directly lead to financial success."
Launched in 2018, CCA’s alliance partnership with SCORE's 50-year-old national organization has resulted in the successful production of the webinar “Too Many Hats? How to Juggle the Different Roles of Owning a Small Business.”
More than 3,000 participants attended the webinar which was promoted across more than 40 media outlets. The webinar features a presentation by Blakely on the essential strategy every small business owner—including creatives—needs to know to build a road map for intentional and purposeful growth while surviving the emotional roller coaster of juggling so many roles.
