WORKSHOP—
Six Hats Method

Most of the time you have to wear a lot of Hats to keep your career afloat. Some of the Hats you love. Some of the Hats you hate. Some Hats you may not have even discovered yet. Your many Hats may seem like a problem for you now, but they are about to become a real solution. Things literally begin to change when you focus on your Hats and begin to view your particular working situation in this surprisingly fun and simple new way: You only have one Head. The success of your career will require you to wear six important Hats. It’s not impossible to juggle the six Hats if your Head clearly understands the purpose, the goals, and the required needs of each Hat.
Finally! The answers that writers, artists, and small business talents need to survive and thrive as a one-person-business.
♦   Discover how to interpret conflicting emotions that can cause you to doubt your inner wisdom.
♦   Explore ways to leverage your creativity to succeed in a predominantly Left-Brained business world.
♦   Learn how to objectively evaluate your skill gaps and jumpstart progress in areas that have held you back
The Six Hats Method is a unique system using right and left brain thinking techniques to help draw out and clarify the issues all one-person business owners face.

SPECIAL NOTE TO PROGRAM DIRECTORS:

Creative Center of America’s workshops stand out because we pay close attention to distracted learners and provide beautifully relevant illustrations to engage them in the learning process. We also approach complex topics with both depth and simplicity. We offer real solutions for important issues that few others in our space have the expertise to discuss. For example, we help participants find the words to describe the obstacles they are encountering that they may not know are rooted in the particular age/stage of their careers; or, those universal challenges that are being faced by others in their industry.

Our STORYgraphy Cards workshop is about marketing but it also offers real solutions for multi-potentiality—that’s the gift/curse paradox that occurs when one’s high potential presents so many possible options that the individual isn’t certain where to focus or what to create first. STORYography Cards confront this issue with ease by using a game-like process that helps participants build custom strategies.

Our Six Hats Method workshop is about business development but it also introduces a scalability mindset at the earliest developmental stage appropriate for most creatives. We see this organizational design model as a learning benchmark that defines the line of transition between one’s creative career and one’s self-owned business. Focusing on scalability allows an individual to create a business foundation that has the built-in capacity to experience growth that eventually allows adding automation, delegating tasks, hiring vendors and staff, and stepping back. The Six Hats Method utilizes story-based learning to help participants visualize and personalize the recommended structure.

Our Crossing The Troll Bridge workshop provides marketing advice for artists and writers to identify and connect with their audience, but it also details ways to nurture the talent-driven brand—that’s a special brand that creates products and services directly from an individual’s talent or earned experience. This workshop teaches writers and artists about honoring the creative identity, developing natural talent and skill, and, most importantly, taking solid control of one’s own professional dreams.
